About the Legacy
Kaiser the Legacy was created to bridge the gaps in representation for artists of colour and bodies of work that push social and cultural boundaries. Founded by Syed Raja Abbas, the organisation draws inspiration from his Pakistani heritage and aims to provide a platform for underrepresented artists to practice with autonomy, showcasing their work through exhibitions, performances, workshops, and events.
In crafting the brand identity, I worked side by side with Syed to capture the essence of this mission. The design is rooted in cultural authenticity while maintaining a modern, inclusive appeal. Key elements, like the halftone portraiture and bold typographic treatments in the promotional materials, reflect the organisation’s commitment to honoring diverse voices and stories. The green palette, a nod to Syed’s heritage, evokes a sense of tradition, renewal, and growth.
The resulting brand system creates a cohesive visual language that connects with both artists and the community. It emphasises Kaiser the Legacy’s role as a space for dialogue, creativity, and meaningful engagement, establishing a lasting foundation for its mission of inclusivity and social change.
